FAQ

The first time you see a chiropractor can be intimidating, but we know you’ll soon feel at ease in the hands of our chiropractic team. Here are some of the questions we get most often.

  • What IS Chiropractic?
Chiropractic healthcare providers specialize in the health and function of the spine and nervous system. They use spinal manipulation to restore the musculoskeletal structure's movement, which could allow the body to begin to heal itself. Because of this focus on the spine, many people believe that chiropractors are only equipped to assist with issues such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches. In reality, chiropractic care is really about helping patients pursue total health and well-being, helping people to feel great, and get the most out of life by functioning at their optimal potential.
  • Will I get adjusted on the first visit?
Optimized Chiropractic prides itself in developing unique function based care plans that are individualized for each person. We use all of the information from the initial exam to develop a care plan that is specific to restoring function for each individual. Depending on the initial exam findings and person’s presentation, people may or may not be referred for diagnostic imaging; and the Doctor will take the time to analyze your exam to come up with the most appropriate approach to caring for you. If the exam findings indicate that an adjustment is clinically appropriate and if time permits, we will do our best to deliver treatment at the first visit.
  • I don't like to be twisted and popped. Can chiropractic still help me?
Absolutely. As our spines age, the tolerance for aggressive adjusting techniques decreases. We want to meet you at your comfort level and we can do so by using gentle techniques that will still elicit the therapeutic effect that people seek with chiropractic care. Patient preference is large part of our clinical decision making process and your input will be heard and respected.
  • Do you take insurance?
Due to sky-high deductibles and steadily declining benefits for our patients, Optimized Chiropractic has chosen to operate as an out-of-network clinic. Being a direct pay chiropractic clinic allows us to offer high-quality, customized care at an affordable price and avoid the hassles of insurance billing, copays, deductibles, and declined reimbursements. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may receive out-of-network chiropractic benefits. You may request a “super-bill” for you to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
  • Do you take Medicare?
Yes. Our practice is a Non-Participating Provider with Medicare. That means you’ll pay any unmet deductible amount for the calendar year. You pay the Medicare rate at time of service to us and we bill Medicare. Then, Medicare reimburses you directly the portion of the charges that Medicare is responsible for.
